Harris Kim, a registered patent attorney, joined Eschweiler & Potashnik in 2025. He earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2011 and was admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C., in 2011. He also received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2002 and a Master of Electronics and Computer Science in 2010 from Korea University in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
Before joining the firm, Harris drafted and prosecuted numerous patent applications in wireless communication technologies, semiconductors, machine learning systems, and automotive electronic components. Examples include applications on autonomous driving and humanoid robot technologies that use generative AI models, gyro sensors, motor driving circuits, and HVAC, as well as software-related inventions such as image processing and medical devices.
He has drafting and prosecution experience with 3GPP LTE 4G and 5G communications protocols, including MIMO, OFDM, CSI feedback, beamforming, carrier aggregation, IoT, mmWave, license-assisted access, M2M, and V2X communications. He has also drafted applications on 3D NAND memory structures and fabrication processes, and on semiconductor fabrication equipment, including plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition and etching chambers and their operating methods, such as RF circuit matching and AI-based fault identification.
Harris is experienced in prior-art searching in the IPDL (Japan) and KIPRIS (Korea) databases for patent infringement disputes and is fluent in English, Korean, and Japanese.
