John D. (Jay) Beinhardt is a registered U.S. patent agent and has been with the firm since its founding in 2001. Jay was registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in 2004 and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1993 and has experience in both industry and patent law. Jay has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in a wide range of mechanical and electrical arts.
Before joining the firm, Jay was a senior mechanical design engineer at the Nelson Stud Welding Division of TRW in Elyria, Ohio. Earlier, he was an applications engineer at Nordson Corporation in Amherst, Ohio, and a member of the engineering staff at Honda of America Mfg. in Marysville, Ohio. At The Ohio State University, he was an undergraduate research assistant in the Diamond Thin Films Laboratory of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
